Why Medics Camp?

If you’re looking for a camp that is fun, challenging and connects you with like minded peers, this is it.

Our mission at Medics Camp is to get you excited about science and ignite your curiosity.  We want you to feel like you’re in medical school, learning about the human body and how the systems interconnect.

We want Medics Camp to be a unique experience for all that attend.  Our program tends to attract like minded kids so whether virtual or onsite, you’re likely to meet some new friends.  For some of you, Medics Camp may be the first step in your medical journey and we are excited and honoured to be a part of your future.

My kids (9 & 7) attended medic camp a few weeks ago. They had the BEST time. The kids did something new every day and they came away from camp with so many valuable learnings. The camp was very well organized. Amanda was great! The instructors were very nice and fun. We will be back next year! I’d recommend this camp to any parent looking for a camp that’s different and rewarding.

Need To Know

Deadlines to Register: please note the registration deadline for your desired camp week.  Material kits take time to build and are unique to each camp week so we only make the number that we need.  The deadlines posted also reflect shipping times if you’ve selected that option.  While we can’t control shipping delays we can mitigate them by shipping your child’s material kit well in advance of their camp week.

Basic Camp Supplies: While we provide the materials needed for the daily hands-on activities in your child’s material kit, there are some basic school supplies that they will need to have such as a pencil, pen, scissors, glue, tape, crayons or coloured pencils, and markers.

Break Time:  Each camp session has a scheduled 15 minute bio break for kids to use the washroom and have a snack.  In the AM session this is usually from 10:45-11am and the PM session is usually 1:45-2pm.  We recommend having your child’s snack prepared in advance much like they would have on a school day or in-person camp day.  Not only is it more efficient but it’s another way to promote independence during camp.

Registration Portal:  Last summer we invested in a new registration system that makes it easy for parents to register and pay for multiple camps, take advantage of automatic sibling discounts, complete intake forms online, and print copies of their statements for personal records or tax purposes.  Once a family account is created in the system, you can login and register for any of our programs in the future as well.

Onsite Camp August 23-27:  We are only offering one local onsite camp this summer which will be at Kids Cuckoo’s Nest in Aurora, ON.  We are optimistic that by late August, case counts will be low and restrictions will be such that we can deliver a fun and safe camp experience to kids ages 5-8.  Because children will not be vaccinated this summer and public health restrictions for indoor gatherings are expected to be around 50, we have chosen to only offer this session to Munchkin and Mini age groups.  Each group will have their own enclosed space with social distancing.  Break times in the play gym area will be staggered so that the two cohorts remain separate and KCN staff will sanitize equipment between groups.  Masks will be required for all staff and campers at all times but since this is Medics Camp and doctors wear masks we’re going to incorporate them into our programming.  If we need to cancel the onsite camp for any reason, those registered will be provided a full refund.
